artist's statement
Knowing that humans are responsible for the dramatic and perhaps irreversible changes to our environment compelled me to capture my responses to melting glaciers, lost landmasses and extreme weather phenomena.
In the past several years, I have been working on a series called EARTH INTERRUPTED. Ignorance, avarice, and untethered development are the interrupters, affecting the air we breathe, the water we drink and the land we cultivate and treasure.
The bizarre beauty of these changes to our earth has been both captivating and horrifying; watching an accident in slow motion; feeling impotent; I CAN ONLY PAINT.
